Sunset
2005-04-17

Every night there's a sunset
The colored shadows are cast
the red-bud blossoms flouresce in the light
while the hive of honeybees
drink their the sweet pollen,
this night at sunset

The deer bed down
The squirels find their nest
the turkeys go to roost
and the butterflies rest

Every night there's a sunset
The water shines back,
Red, gold, blue then deep black
while the crickets & nuthatches converse.
The life dances and sings,
this night at sunset.

The sky fades out,
the breeze brings a chill,
The trees stand tall,
and the rocks stand still.

Every night there's a sunset
and the moon lights the sky,
The story runs as consciousness fails;
The pen drops as the words vanish
Tomorrow the sun will rise
every night at sunset.
