Virtue
2002-11-22

That without exception is pure;
The superlative, and the greatest,
be it the cleanest conception
or the vilest corruption -
They're without distinction,
simply the ends of a mean - and a kind
Truth is nocuous or not,
but whichever, it is dangerous
and without bottom or end.
That's where I feed;
in the darkest night
or the dayest bright.

The extension beyond viable bounds,
where syntax and law are irrelevent
where the stench - and beauty -
overwhelm in the same breath.
The burn is so hot it freezes,
and the light is so bright it blinds
and inaction breaks the army -
its a wonderful kind of agony
to live where tarnish eclipses the bronze.

that without exception is pure
the superlative, and the slightest,
be it the most sordid reason
or the noblest ignorance
where only I say the better
the means or the kinds.
The prodigious lies
underneath the greatest achievement
and above the richeous prison
where we spend our lives
trapped in adultered virtue
